“About five years ago my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was in grade 11 and I had the chance to shave my head. At the time my hair wasn't long enough to donate, but now that it is, I feel it is truly time to do my part. Since Grade 11 my mom has beaten her cancer and I have realized how much it has affected me. I feel that it's time for young adults to stand up for their parents and themselves. I feel that this festival is a chance for people to come together over something horrible and create something beautiful.”
-Rory Speirs; UCA Founder, 2008.

Our goal is to create a music festival that will promote cancer awareness among the community. We wish to create a safe and fun environment where we can bring the community together and do our part to combat this disease. We will use music and entertainment as a vehicle to deliver our message, and through donations, vending and raffling we will also raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

In 2008, Rory Speirs and Robert Barrington organized the first annual Breastfest. The event was a complete success that received positive feed back from the Ridge Meadows community and all of those involved. Now, with the formation of United Circle of Arts, Breastfest has a solid foundation of volunteers who all share passion for this event.
